May 18 2007 - I attended the Health Fair at New
Lexington High School and had an
absolutely wonderful time with these
kids. I demonstrated and taught many of these kids the art of "casting".
There were LOTS of talented students in this crowd, and I suggested that
they form a "fishing team" and possibly start earning scholarship money by
fishing!
May 17 2007 - I attended (and emceed) the
Ohio
Bass Youth Federation annual "Hook Lake
Shootout". These kids ALL caught fish,
and some real nice ones were brought to the scales! I even received an "S.
S. Minnow" tournament shirt as an honorary member of that club. How
awesome is that? Thank you S. S. Minnows :-) The
Ohio National Guard
sponsored
this event, which I thought was great! Thank you National Guard for
supporting the "fishing youth", and their events.
May 12 2007 - N.O.A.A. tournament at West Branch - Marcia
and Louie finish in 10th place and cash a check!

Another great day as "Boat Captain" on Portage Lakes with Team USA Jr.
Bassmaster's! My Jr. Angler, Bill P, managed a first place victory,
by bringing 4 nice fish to the scales. Congrats Bill! Now that you have a
third place and a first place finish, I just might be seeing you at the
State finals :-)
May 7, 2007 - Lake
Guntersville 13th place finish! Click
HERE for
complete story :-)
May 2, 2007 - Marcia in Bass Times! Link coming
soon.

April 24, 2007 - Team USA Junior Bassmaster's (Ohio
Bass Youth Federation) held it's first tournament of the season at
Portage Lakes, where I am volunteering as a Boat Captain for
these youth tournaments. I sure was lucky to get paired up with Bill P. (a
Jr. at a local High School) for the evening. I'm proud to say that
Bill ended up in 3rd place for his first tournament experience ever!!!
Congrats Bill!
Team USA Bassmaster's is one of the larger Jr. Fishing clubs in Ohio, with
32 members.
The top performers from each club will advance to the Ohio Jr. Federation
state championship. The top two winners from the state championship will
move on to compete in the National Guard Jr. World Championship.
Please get your children involved! It's never to early...It's never too
late.
Click

Federation) to see how you and/or your children can get involved.
April 21, 2007 - NEW Sponsor on board!
Please welcome my latest sponsor, the Naked
Bait Co.!! This
is probably one of the greatest products out on the market for anyone who
desires a little more creativity and variety with the skirts on theirJigs, Buzzbaits, Spinnerbaits, and even Soft Plastics! Aren't you tired of
the same old skirt colors that are available at the tackle stores? I know
I am!
These handmade skirts are available in a multitude of
color schemes, which can be purchased individually, or in the form of
a kit. Choose
between a "Floating" version, or the soon to be available "Sinking"
version.
Naked Bait Co.Skirts are fantastic as replacement skirts for most spinner baits, buzz
baits, jigs and chatter baits. Click
HERE to read what others are saying about these skirts.
Do you want a skirt with a color scheme you can call
your very own? No Problem! Custom skirts can be made to order.
Look at how these "floating skirts" look under water! I just don't see how
a bass could possibly ignore something that looks this good!!!
Check out the many different
PRODUCTS that The Naked Bait Co. offers for all of your custom
skirt making needs. At only $19.99 per kit,
these kits would make a fantastic present for any fisherman.
Pair these skirts up with aTitle Shot Jig
and any soft plastic bait from Lake Fork Tackle ,
and I think you can give these fish something that they have NEVER seen
before!
The only thing limiting you now is your own imagination...
:-)

Marcia finishes in
18th place
on Lake Dardanelle! Not
only that, but her day three co-angler, Laura Elkins ended up moving up
from 11th place to first place by weighing in a nice 5 fish limit while
fishing with Marcia on the third and final day of the tournament.
Congratulations Laura! We are all so proud of you!!
Watch Marcia as she is told that she has made the cut and will be fishing
on the final day.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3/15/07 - Marcia is selected as the latest addition to the 2007G. LOOMIS
Fishing team!!! Anyone that knows Marcia will understand completely,
the amount of pride that she will feel to display the the very well
respected G. Loomis logo on her tournament clothing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2/07 Marcia making history by becoming the first woman to
ever be
invited to fish in the "Fish
with A Pro" charitable event for "High Risk" kids which will be held in
Traverse, Michigan on Sept. 27-30 2007
Here are some pictures from my trip to
Miami, the Keys and Alabama at the Bassmaster Classic
It's no secret that my
G. Loomis
rods are without a doubt one of my most important
tools in my fishing arsenal. From the beginning, I knew that if a rod
sponsor logo ended up on my shirt, that it would be
G.Loomis, or
nothing. I've waited a long time to make this announcement, and I can't
even begin to tell you how ecstatic I feel about this newly formed
relationship. Thank you to the folks at
G.Loomis for putting
your trust in me Trust me.
This is my ALL time favorite Combo!
Rod: G. Loomis MBR 844C
Reel: Shimano Chronarch Mg
Here they are! Presenting my long awaited Soft Plastics sponsor,
Lake Fork Tackle. They manufacture what I will refer
to as my first ever "Confidence" soft plastic bait, the Lake Fork
Crawtube. After having a ton of success on that bait, I began
experimenting with many other Lake Fork products. I'll be honest and tell you
that I fell in love with each new bait that I tried, in particular the
Magic Shad, the
10" Trophy Worms, and their
frogs. But just recently they have added the "bait of all baits" when
they introduced the "LIVE"
Magic Shad, The ultimate live-action swimbait.
Watching
this bait move through the water is like watching a "Water Ballet", and is
amazing to watch. It's hard to believe that it is not real! The soft
plastic body is divided with 3 separate joints, but the joints are made of
soft plastic, which is the reason that it moves so freely.
They also carry a full line of
jigs,
tungsten weights, and
Hawg Wild Scent.
Oh my gosh, was I ever lucky to stumble upon this GREAT product! The
Title Shot Jig
is the
ultimate solution when it comes to fishing a completely weedless jig.
The
patented
Title SHot® Jig offers significant technological advancement in
versatility and performance. The heart of the
Title SHot® Jigis the patented Retainer/Guard System.
With pressure applied, the Retainer/Guard collapses rather than flexing,
allowing the jig's full bite to come into play. This means NO MORE weed
guards getting in the way of the hook set! Not only that, but this jig can
be rigged completely weedless with just about ANY soft plastic bait.
I have put this little jig through the test by throwing it into the
nastiest, gnarliest brush piles and trees I could find. Much to my surprise,
this jig came through these obstacles with very little effort. Needless to
say, these have become a real important player in my tackle box :-) Click
HERE to see how many different ways the Title Shot Jig can be rigged.
Jigs available in many different sizes and colors.
Anyone who spends time out on the water like I do, knows the importance
of a good quality pair of sunglasses.
Costa Del Mar and "fishing" go hand
in hand, as their products are geared towards the "outdoors enthusiast".
Costa Del Mar offers
high tech, high performance eyewear that can make
anyone feel like a star with their
assortment of
stylish yet practical frames.
Costa Del Mar offers more
lens color optionsthan any other manufacturer.
They understand that different lighting conditions require different colored
lenses. Some glasses even offer you the ability to
swap lenses!
Another bonus is the fact that you can get these sunglasses made to your
prescription.
Who is
this Marcia Rubin anyway ???
My name is Marcia Rubin.
I live in Chagrin Falls, OH and I am
fishing professionally in the Women's Bassmaster Tour.
I'm out on the water just about every day,
perfecting my skills. And NOPE...In case you were
wondering...Fishing is not about "luck"...there is much
skill involved :-) And like they say..."Practice DOES make
Perfect"
So if you're ever driving down the road and see a petite
lady pulling a 21 foot Ranger behind a Big Black Toyota
Tundra...that would most likely be me :-)
I've just concluded my Rookie year of Professional Bass
Fishing with the
Women's Bassmaster Tour, and proud to say
that I was able to cash TWO checks along the way, and
ended up in the TOP TWENTY for
Angler Of The Year!
Fishing the 2006 Women's Tour enabled me to fish some of the
nations most beautiful lakes. We fished
Lewisville Lake
(Texas),
Neely Henry (Alabama),
Lake Norman (North
Carolina),
Dardanelle
(Arkansas), and
Bull Shoals
(Missouri) I'd say that Dardanelle was probably my
favorite lake to fish, although the results didn't show
it!
I have made some very close friends while fishing the
Tour. I still find myself amazed that I can actually sit
down and talk "Fish Talk" with other ladies who are
just like me! Nope, we don't sit around talking about
"shopping", or "who does your hair"...lol We much prefer
to talk about "Drop shotting, Texas Rigging, Split Shot
rig, lure modification, gear ratios, "the one that got
away" stories, patterning fish," etc. Could you even
imagine being surrounded by 200 ladies that can "talk the
talk??" I never could either, which is why I would find
myself in complete awe every time these "deep" fishing
conversations would occur. These ladies are all SO
awesome, and they each of such a unique story to tell.
I have a huge
photo gallery, Tournament Diary and an
interactive forum.
During tournament season, I spend a lot of time out on
the road. If you notice that things have been quiet around
here for a couple of weeks, then you can assume that I am
out of town fishing a tournament, or doing promotional
work for my sponsors. Sometimes I have internet connection
where I am staying, and other times I don't. But, even if
I do have internet, my amount of time online is very
limited because I am crazy busy preparing for my
tournament, and spending sometimes up to 15 hours out on
the water a day.
I want everyone to know exactly how much I appreciate all
of the nice comments and emails that you send me! Please
don't take it personally, or feel "rejected" if I don't
send a reply. It would be simply impossible to send a
personal reply to every email that I receive. It's not
that I wouldn't "want" to, it's just that I have a
lot of career related things that I must tend to.
If you would like to contact me regarding
guest/promotional appearances, or sponsorship
opportunities for 2007, please
HERE
to send me an email.
A personal note to my 2006 SPONSORS...
I could
have never done it without you, your support, your products, your
friendship, and most importantly, your belief in me.
With you standing behind me, the sky is
my limit. Here is a sincere "Thank you" for giving me the
chance to make you proud...
